Team Dating Couple Matthew Edwards and Phoebe Walker were hailed victors of the second season of The Amazing Race Philippines, winning almost PhP10 million pesos worth of grand prize package including 2 house and lots from RCD Royale Homes, 2 Kia Sportage SUVs and the PhP2 million peso cash prize from PLDT Home Telpad.
At the finish line of the Race’s final leg in Camiguin, race master Derek Ramsay and the eight pre-eliminated teams welcomed the dating couple and congratulated them for winning the race.
“You raced hard and you raced the fastest. You are the winners of The Amazing Race Philippines – Season 2,” said Ramsay.
Team Mr. Pogi John Paul Duray and Kelvin Engles finished close-second, while Chefs Roch Hernandez and Eji Estillore placed third.
Asked about their plans, Phoebe said part of her winnings will go to a business she will set up to financially-support her family while Matt said in a separate interview that he will spend part of his winnings going back to England to bond with his father. Winning a total of PhP 2.8 million cash prize (part of which came from winning 4 pit stop legs), they would also donate some of their winnings to a charity dedicated to helping kids at Payatas.
